About Me

The Story Behind
the Stories

Voula Monoholias is a writer and photographer whose work draws from lived experience. Through words and images, her work explores love, connection, belonging, and the bonds that shape how we see the world and one another.

Her interest in storytelling began early. Drawn to language and expression, Voula earned a public speaking award in grade school and represented her school at the regional level. While public speaking did not become her primary medium, those early experiences shaped her understanding of how stories create connection.

Over time, her work has taken many forms. She has spent decades working in business and marketing, where clarity, structure, and narrative are essential, while also developing a visual practice rooted in photography and quiet observation. Travel and movement, shaped by her long career as a flight attendant, continue to influence her sensitivity to place, human connection, and belonging.

Her debut children’s picture book, Love, Berkley, is a true story told through the journey of a devoted dog. Written for children and the adults who read alongside them, The book reflects her belief that a fulfilling life is shaped by many forms of love.

"I tell stories in words and images about love, connection, and belonging. Travel is both inspiration and teacher, shaping how I see the world and our place in it."
